Fiji's Online Avenue for Media Freedom
The IBAHRI had planned to send a high-level delegation to Fiji from 18 to 22 February 2008. The purpose of the visit was to assess the country’s current state of justice and the rights and freedoms of its citizens, using international legal standards as yardsticks.
The IBA was dismayed to learn that a stop arrival order had been issued preventing the delegation from entering the country two days prior to their arrival. To view some of the press coverage of these events click here.
The IBA would like to thank the support it has received from its member bar associations and law societies in calling on the government of Fiji to permit the delegation to carry out the visit.

Comment by Siteri Maravou on December 9, 2011 at 1:14pm If you have been following the activities of the Illegal regime in Fiji, it's not surprising that it doesn't want the International Bar Association to visit the country.
It is scared because the visit will identify its Illegal activities.
Take note the illegal regime knows too well what its doing is wrong but continues doing it!
